Walls can inspire sport, too. At an outdoor sports centre in Valencia, Dale Color created a sports mural dedicated to Adidas as part of an activation organised by Sprinter. Painted directly behind a basketball hoop, the mural made the wall part of the sporting experience.
The aim was to encourage sport through a colourful composition of moving figures and geometric shapes. We painted live during the event, allowing people passing through the venue to come closer and watch the work progress.
Distrito Activo: sport, geometry and colour
The message “Distrito Activo” (Active District) sits at the centre of the mural in graffiti-inspired lettering. Around it, figures associated with skating, running and basketball connect the painting with the sports centre's activities.
- An energetic palette: blues, yellows, oranges and reddish tones create contrasts that support the movement of the figures.
- A design integrated into the wall: the composition extends to both sides of the central pillar, making use of the available surface behind the hoop.
- Sporting identity: details in the clothing and trainers include visual references to Adidas within an accessible urban scene.
Live painting during the Sprinter activation
Creating the mural was part of the event itself. While Sprinter ran the activation, our team painted live and visitors could watch the process, from the colour blocks to the outlines and final details.
The intervention brought together street art, sport and a live brand experience. The mural remained at the sports venue as a lasting result of the day and a visual invitation to keep moving.
Murals for sports facilities and events
At Dale Color, we create bespoke murals for courts, sports centres and branded spaces. We adapt every proposal to its surroundings and message, with the option of painting live during an activation.
