Near Madrid’s iconic Puerta de Alcalá, Bar A.N.E.L. wanted a façade that expressed its pride in Spanish products and culture. The owner wanted those values to be visible in the business’s identity, even with the shutter down.
The challenge was to incorporate familiar symbols without making the design simplistic. We used the bar’s own logo to build a strong, elegant composition inspired by the Spanish flag.
Repetition, branding and volume
- A flag made from the brand: We repeated “a.n.e.l.” on three levels, with red at the top and bottom and yellow in the middle. The arrangement evokes the flag while keeping the business name at its centre.
- Highlights and relief: White highlights give the lettering a sense of volume and a glossy finish, adding depth to the painted surface.
Function and clarity
At the bottom, bold lettering in an orange gradient spells out “TAPAS • LOUNGE • BAR”. This makes the offer immediately clear to visitors passing through the area.
We translate an owner’s identity into a façade that communicates before anyone steps inside. Looking for a custom shutter in central Madrid? Request a personalised quote.
