Location changes everything. La Chalada sits on a busy corner with heavy traffic. The client needed a design that worked instantly: an image understood in the second it takes to drive past.
The challenge was to express the name “Chalada”, meaning a little crazy, without becoming grotesque, while retaining the elegance of a wine bar and restaurant. Our answer was minimalism and silhouette.
The concept: elegant eccentricity
We created a simple but powerful visual story with two main colours and one accent:
- The playful hairstyle: a woman's profile with a tousled updo, loose strands and organic shapes subtly expresses the name's eccentricity while remaining chic and relaxed.
- A wine-coloured accent: the red-wine glass is the only coloured element in the black and white design. This red focal point immediately communicates the business and guides the viewer's eye.
Visibility: less is more
This shutter is designed to be seen:
- High contrast: the white silhouette on deep black remains visible day and night, standing out against the grey road and neighbouring buildings.
- Scale: a single large figure covering the shutter has more impact than a composition crowded with small details.
At Dale Color, we adapt designs to their surroundings. A business in a fast-moving location needs an image with instant impact.
