Metal Shutter Art — A Realistic 3D Espadrille

Shutters and shopfronts

A hand-painted espadrille for Alpargatus, using orange gradients and a soft shadow to create the illusion of a shoe floating above the shutter.

Get in touch

For Alpargatus, the product is the star. The brand wanted to turn its shutter into a giant shop window that works around the clock: an espadrille so tangible that you almost want to touch it.

The challenge was to convey soft, organic shapes on cold, corrugated metal. Careful colour work and shading were essential to create that sense of volume.

Depth and the illusion of floating

  • Orange gradients: Bright orange transitions into ochre through soft layers, following the curves of the fabric and giving the shoe a convincing three-dimensional form.
  • A soft cast shadow: Shading around the outer edges makes the espadrille appear to float a few centimetres in front of the metal.

A façade with impact

  • Instant recognition: The product tells people what the shop sells without relying on a sign.
  • Architectural harmony: The large-scale illustration, clean execution and neutral grey background work with the building’s traditional façade.
We blended orange gradients to give the shoe depth. The shadow was the key to making it float and breaking up the rigidity of the shutter.

We can bring your signature product to life at a scale that makes the façade your best advertisement. Want your product on your shopfront? Request a quote.
